Today I reached the limit of my GitHub Copilot quota for the first time.
It seems GitHub has been shrinking their quotas for a while now, as I’ve never had this occur before.
Just as I thought about upgrading to the $10 Pro plan, GitHub announced that they are pausing new subscriptions indefinitely.
So what now? At this point, I’m completely locked out of GitHub Copilot until my quota resets in a month. I’m forced to go for an alternative.
Alternatives
Supermaven
Boasting faster response times than any other AI autocomplete, and a seemingly unlimited free tier, it seems to be a great alternative.
As I dug deeper into its features and pricing, I found that the project has been abandoned.
So, unlimited free usage, but no guarantees for how long the service will be available.
Conclusion
I’ll update this post as I experiment with Supermaven and other alternatives.
